A Little Christmas Restoration Project

Christmas is quickly upon us!  Who out there is ready for all things Christmas from your socks to the mantle?  I'm getting there, but it usually all comes out the day after Thanksgiving.  I got this string of vintage brass bells last year at a local thrift shop for 50 cents.  Steal!  I live for good deals!  I had them hanging on the wall, but didn't love them, so upon viewing the Hearth and Hand Christmas line from last year with the little brass bell ornaments I thought why not cut off these sweet things and make my own knockoff for pennies.  First I soaked these in ketchup to allow the acid to break down the build up of time, then strung them on twine I had on hand.  Voila!    The metal pail is from Wal-Mart, artificial tree from Joann Fabrics, twine from Amazon in  bulk, and candle from Kmart.  Perhaps you have a string of random bells or might keep an eye for some thrifting or from a craft store.  Happy Holidays and Christmas crafting!
